It’s that time of year! December is here, colder weather is coming and Christmas lights are going up. Our Central Florida area has so many awesome spots to enjoy during the holiday season. Whether you live in Central Florida already or will be moving here during this holiday season, you’ll have plenty of things to do to get into the spirit. From beautiful light displays to holiday activities, let's talk about some of our favorite places to go and favorite things to do throughout this time of year.
Dasher’s lightshow, a Christmas drive-thru
At the Florida mall you will find the beloved Dasher’s lightshow, a drive through light display accompanied by some of great holiday tunes to really encompass the Christmas spirit. This drive through light show is absolutely worth visiting and is guaranteed to make some great memories amongst your family and friends. This event is priced per vehicle and will take about 30 minutes to get through. The event goes through the end of December and you can get tickets at www.dasherslightshow.com.
Disney Springs
When I first bought my home in Orlando it was around this time of year and one of the first places I went with my family was Disney Springs. This is an activity I have enjoyed every year since. Disney Springs is a great time year-round, but during the holiday season I must say, it’s unmatched. There are countless things to do once you’re at Disney Springs, whether you simply want to stroll and enjoy the beautiful light displays, enjoy some of the many restaurants there or even take part in the Disney Springs Tree Stroll trivia, this is a great place to do so.
Celebration’s Now Snowing
It’s already a white Christmas in our Celebration community! Their “now snowing” event is a fantastic way to get into the spirit. Through December 31st you can visit the Celebration town center and enjoy nightly snowfall at 6, 7, 8 and 9 pm on top of carriage rides, ice skating, photos with Santa and more. If you live in or near Celebration, this is a must-visit during the holiday season.
Walt Disney World Resorts
It goes without saying, each one of our Disney resorts goes all out for the holidays. You do not need a room at these resorts to check out their holiday displays. You can even use their transportation directly from Disney Springs and any of the other parks. If you want to book a dinner reservation you’ll even get 3 hours of complimentary parking. The Grand Floridian and the Wilderness Lodge have some of our state's best decorations and lights. Definitely worth stopping by!
