As a homeowner in Altamonte Springs, Florida, I absolutely love my town!! There are plenty of reasons to love Altamonte Springs, but I want to highlight a few of the important ones so you know what to expect when moving to Altamonte. To save some time, I will say now that some of the best aspects of being in Altamonte Springs is the easy commutes, being close to EVERYTHING you need, there's always something going on, and you almost can't ask for anything more!
Attractions and Events:
Altamonte Springs has become famous over the years due to the attractions and events that happen year round. One of the sites for these events is Crane's Roost, where they host the world-famous Red, Hot & Boom event every year on Independence day. While Independence day brings visitors from all over the state, that is only one of many events at Crane's Roost. On a weekly and monthly basis, you will see things like Community yoga and workout sessions, monthly "Uptown Vibes" events, Art festivals, movie nights, and more!
Crane's Roost is conveniently located next to the major highway I-4, and also strategically located near the Altamonte Mall. The Altamonte Mall is kind of a hub for the city. This area comprises of dozens of restaurants and shopping, some bars, offices, and more! You will need for nothing when you are in the heart of Altamonte Springs, whether you're at Crane's Roost, the mall, or Uptown, you have everything you need!
I would also like to note a few other attractions, Congo River Golf and Wekiwa Springs Park! These little gems bring a lot of character and attention to the area as well. Congo River Golf is a small Mini Golf course with a very unique course! This is the perfect place for a night out with the kids, a date night, or just something to pass time while you're waiting for the movie at AMC down the road! Wekiwa Springs is also a well-known nature hub in Altamonte/Longwood. People from all over the world travel to Altamonte Springs to experience the native springs, trails, river activities like kayaking and canoeing, and more! Wekiwa Springs also has a great bar and restaurant to enjoy while you're hanging out in the sun and splashing in the river!
Restaurants:
As an outsider, you would never think that Altamonte Springs has some of the best restaurants you can find in Central FL, but they do! This is a separate section in itself because of the uniqueness and variety of different types of food and restaurants in Altamonte Springs. If you are a foodie that loves experiencing new vibes, flavors, and dishes. COME TO ALTAMONTE!!
I will note a few of my favorites here, but it is probably in your best interest to use our friend Google to find what place suits your tastebuds on any given occasion. I personally love Santiago's Bodega, Fig's Prime, Cafè Murano, Vida Cocina, and Pilin Thai. These restaurants all vary in price, quality, and cuisine. What I love most about each of these, is that they all have their own unique atmosphere, signature dishes, and specialties. If you want a fancy dinner for a special night, make a reservation at Fig's Prime, they rarely accept walk-ins so do not forget to book a spot! If you need a fun night out for drinks and food, Santiago's Bodega and Vida Cocina are AMAZING spots to bring the friends and family to hangout. They each have their own vibe but you will have a good time and great experience at both!
I cannot think of any type of food you can't get in Altamonte Springs. Some of the restaurants you find in the area may be in Longwood, FL. But nonetheless, for Altamonte Springs residents, they're all within a short drive or walk!!
Communities:
Altamonte Springs is also very popular for some of it's more established communities. When I say established, the things that should come to mind are neighborhoods like Spring Oaks, River Run, Sanlando Springs, and San Sebastian! These are all great neighborhoods where many families reside, and values continue to rise and hold due to it's nature of an established community.
All of these communities I mentioned are very family-centric neighborhoods. Whether there is an HOA or not, they all have one thing in common. Pride of ownership!! You will notice in these communities, not a lot of homes sell and most of the residents stay in their homes for many many years! With all the schools being close by, and tons of kid-friendly activities available, Altamonte Springs is a great place to relocate your family, or to simply start a family!
Conclusion:
At the end of the day, Central Florida is full of amazing neighborhoods and communities. But there is something about Altamonte Springs, having a blend of it all within a short distance, that keeps families coming in and never wanting to leave! If you're looking to relocate your family, find a new community to grow in, or just want a new area that's full of life and experiences, Altamonte Springs is the place!!
